YouTube Transcript to TXT ("the Extension") helps users extract transcript text from YouTube videos, save it as a TXT file, and optionally send user-prepared text to a selected LLM website.
1. Data We Process
The Extension may process the following data only to provide core functionality:
- Website content data from pages you open:
- YouTube transcript text and video title from the active YouTube tab
- Text you choose to insert into selected LLM chat pages
- User settings stored locally:
- Prompt templates
- Selected LLM target
- UI preferences and temporary video card cache
2. How Data Is Used
Data is used exclusively to:
- extract transcript text from YouTube pages you interact with
- create and download a TXT file at your request
- open a selected LLM page and insert prepared text after your explicit action
- save your extension settings locally for convenience
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data.
The Extension does not transfer your data to our own servers.
Data may be sent directly to third-party websites only when you explicitly choose to do so, for example when you click "Send to LLM" and open a selected provider page (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, or Mistral). Their own privacy policies apply to any data you submit there.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Settings are stored locally using Chrome Extension storage.
- Transcript text is processed on demand.
- Downloaded TXT files are created only when you request download.
